🌿 Assertiveness – Self-expression and boundaries
Being able to express yourself, say no, set boundaries, ask for help, or give and receive feedback or compliments are all part of what is known as assertiveness. These skills help you feel more comfortable in relationships and social situations.
They are gradually developed throughout life, often from childhood or adolescence, but they can also be learned and strengthened in adulthood.
When these skills have been more difficult to develop, it may become challenging to express your needs, set limits, or feel legitimate in relationships. This can sometimes be accompanied by anxiety in social interactions.
These difficulties can have an impact in different areas of life, including work, family, and close relationships.
Therapeutic support can help you better understand these patterns, develop assertiveness skills, and gradually feel more at ease and freer in your relationships.
